Arrest warrant issued against DIG Mizan’s wife, brother

A Dhaka court on Sunday issued arrest warrant against the wife and the brother of suspended deputy inspector general (DIG) of police Mizanur Rahman for amassing illeagal wealth.

Dhaka Metropolitan Sessions Judge KM Imrul Qayes issued the arrest warrant against Mizan’s wife Sohelia Anar Ratna and younger brother Mahbubur Rahman after taking cognizance of corruption charges against them.

The court also set March 3 to submit report on executing the order to arrest the two accused.
ACC director Monjur Morshed on January 30 filed the charge sheet against four, DIG Mizanur Rahman, his wife Rotna, brother Mahbubur Rahman and nephew Mahmudul Hasan.

The anti-graft body on June 24, 2019, filed the case against four, concealing information about wealth of Taka 3.07 crore and amassing illegal wealth of Taka 3.28 crore.
